By using Who Called Canada you accept the terms below. They are short because the service is simple: we publish numbering allocation data and moderated community opinion, free of charge, and ask for honest use in return.

1. Nature of the service

The site presents the Canadian Numbering Administrator’s (CNAC) register: which carrier each central-office prefix (NPA-NXX) was issued to, for which rate centre and when. It adds votes and reports submitted by visitors. It is not a directory, not a people-search service and not a consumer-reporting agency, and it cannot identify the subscriber behind a number.

2. Allocation data

Allocation data is reproduced in good faith from CNAC’s public files and refreshed weekly. An allocation names the original holder of a prefix: with number portability the actual carrier may differ, and caller ID can be spoofed. We do not warrant the accuracy or currency of this data, and you must not rely on it for any decision with legal, financial or safety consequences without independent verification.

3. Community content

Votes and reports are the personal opinions of their authors, published after moderation; they are neither verified nor endorsed by the operator and are not statements of fact. By posting you warrant that your contribution is truthful, based on your own direct experience, free of third-party personal data (names, addresses, employers) and of criminal accusations naming a person, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to reproduce it on the site and in our sitemaps. We may edit, hide or delete any contribution at any time without notice.

4. Prohibited uses

• Scraping, harvesting or bulk-downloading the site’s data, by robot or otherwise, beyond ordinary search-engine crawling;
• Using the site to harass, locate or identify a person, or for marketing;
• Posting defamatory, hateful or false content, or content containing third-party personal data;
• Manipulating votes (repeat submissions, automation, proxy networks);
• Circumventing rate limits or anti-abuse measures.

Breaches lead to blocking and, where warranted, referral to the relevant authorities.

5. Intellectual property

Editorial text, the guides and the site’s presentation belong to the operator. Raw numbering data belongs to its sources and is reproduced by virtue of its public release. You may quote the site with a link; no bulk download is offered.

6. Advertising

The editorial guides and number pages carry advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisements are labelled as such. We do not control their content and endorse no advertiser.

7. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including availability, accuracy or fitness for a purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law the operator is not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site or its data. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions; they then apply to the extent permitted.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Canada. Disputes fall to the competent Canadian courts. If a clause is held invalid the rest remain in force.

9. Changes

We may amend these terms; the online version, dated below, is authoritative.
